Obama Pledges Not to Flee

In private FBI meetings Saturday evening, Barack Obama attorney Jeff Lindbaum has indicated that Mr. Obama will surrender peacefully "in due course."

"Americans have nothing to fear whatsoever from my client, the near-President Obama," he said, adding, "I give you my word."

The once President-elect and now fugitive was last seen meeting with Verichip executives in Florida, as word was received that he was wanted for questioning by the FBI, INS and FEC.

FBI spokesman Dick Wuss told reporters that Obama would be arrested using whatever means necessary, but would not be harmed or tortured. "What he's apparently done is amazing, but he has some serious explaining to do now."
